Haay Skincare Pancha Sankalp: Five Jain-Inspired Commitments to Conscious Beauty
Beauty is not just about what we put on our skin. It is also about the choices behind it.
At Haay Skincare, we believe that conscious beauty starts long before a product reaches your hands.
It begins with a simple question: Can we care for ourselves while being mindful of everything around us?
The ingredients we choose, the promises we make, the people we work with, the resources we use and even the things we decide not to use all reflect what we stand for.
As a Jain-founded skincare brand, our values naturally find their way into the way we think, create and grow.
Inspired by the timeless Jain principles of Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Sanyam and Aparigraha, we call these our Pancha Sankalp, five commitments that guide our approach to conscious beauty.
Less harm. More honesty. Mindful beauty.
1. Ahimsa | Kind to Every Being
Beauty should never come at the cost of another life.
Ahimsa means non-violence and compassion towards all living beings.
For Haay Skincare, this principle begins with what goes into our products.
Our formulations are vegan, and we do not use animal-derived ingredients or test our products on animals. This means consciously staying away from ingredients such as honey, beeswax, carmine, silk protein and other animal-derived ingredients.
But Ahimsa is more than simply checking an ingredient list.
It encourages us to think about the impact of our choices at every step, from sourcing ingredients to creating and producing our products.
Because we believe skincare can be good for your skin without being unkind to the world around you.
2. Satya | Honest on Every Label
Skincare should never leave you guessing.
Satya means truthfulness.
At Haay Skincare, we believe honesty should be as important as efficacy.
You should know what is inside your skincare, what it is designed to do and what it realistically can and cannot do.
That is why we believe in clear ingredient disclosure, accurate quantities, transparent batch and expiry details and realistic product claims.
We don't believe in exaggerated promises or dramatic before-and-after claims designed simply to sell.
Instead, we choose to communicate with clarity.
Because when it comes to your skin, you deserve the truth, not the hype.
3. Asteya | Fair in Every Exchange
Conscious beauty also means doing business fairly.
Asteya is traditionally understood as non-stealing.
At Haay Skincare, we bring this principle into our relationships and everyday business practices by focusing on fairness and respect.
Fairness towards our customers through honest transactions and correct product quantities.
Fairness towards our suppliers and partners.
Fair treatment of the people involved in creating our products.
And respect for creative ownership, including original ideas, photography, designs, content and intellectual property.
Because what we believe shouldn't stop at the product.
It should be reflected in how we do business, too.
4. Sanyam | Mindful in Every Formula
More isn't always better.
Sanyam represents self-restraint, discipline and mindful consumption.
Today, skincare can sometimes feel like an endless cycle of new products, complicated routines and constant reasons to buy more.
At Haay Skincare, we believe in taking a more thoughtful approach.
Every ingredient should have a purpose.
Every formula should address a genuine skincare need.
And every product should bring something meaningful to your routine.
That means avoiding unnecessary ingredients, excessive formulation and fear-based selling.
Instead of asking, “What else can we sell?”
We believe in asking,
“What does your skin actually need?”
Because conscious skincare isn't about having more.
It's about choosing better.
5. Aparigraha | Gentle on the Earth
Take less. Waste less. Be more mindful.
Aparigraha is the principle of non-possessiveness and letting go of excess.
For Haay Skincare, it inspires us to think about how much we take from nature and how much unnecessary waste we create in the process.
We are committed to continuously looking for better ways to reduce unnecessary packaging and waste, while exploring minimal packaging, recyclable materials, reusable or refillable options and more mindful production practices.
We also believe that luxury does not have to mean excess.
A beautiful product doesn't need layers of unnecessary packaging to feel special.
Sometimes, less is simply more thoughtful.
Five Principles. One Purpose.
The Pancha Sankalp isn't about claiming perfection.
It is about having principles that keep us conscious of our choices and accountable for the way we create.
Ahimsa reminds us to reduce harm.
Satya reminds us to be truthful.
Asteya reminds us to be fair.
Sanyam reminds us to practise restraint.
Aparigraha reminds us to take less.
Together, these five principles shape the way we look at skincare at Haay Skincare.
Because skincare is not only about the reflection we see in the mirror.
It is also about the choices behind that reflection.
The ingredients we select.
The promises we make.
The people we work with.
The resources we use.
And the impact we leave behind.
For us, conscious beauty means creating with care, honesty and intention.
That is our Pancha Sankalp.
Less harm. More honesty. Mindful beauty.
